Online poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers are given 5 cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s value is equal to your original bet, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Giving Up means that your bet goes immediately to the house. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a sum on par with the initial bet. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The bank pony’s up chips even with your ante and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
