Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the west in a fantastic game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player vs. the dealer, not like nearly all other poker games that players bet against other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, starting players do not need to fret about other, more experienced gamblers taking their $$$$.
An additional Pai Gow advantage is the relatively leisurely game pace, beginners are able to take their time and plan while not needing to make hasty selections.
It is also easier to bet on for an extended time with just a small amount of cash since, to not win, each of your hands must be lower than each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the dealer gets 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and a two card hand must be made from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
