Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s learning every single day and is quite abashed about his success. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
