Poker Aces refers to two aces being dealt pre-flop. It’s the best possible before theflop hand inTexas Holdem Poker. But regardless a large number of players end up on the losing end when given this hand.
When you are given a pair of Aces, you just do not drop out pre-flop. You’re sitting with the greatest possible hand at this part of the round. So how do you wager with Poker Aces ? Do you actually go all-in? I’d say definitely no to that.
Remember, you are looking to acquire as much profit from this strong position. You want to maximise the opportunity. Going all-in will merely scare most competitors into dropping out without making a wager.
If you’re in the early spot (first or 2nd to place a wager), you will lay a single wager. Any person with a good hand will call, hopefully a player might raise. If there has been a raise do not hop to re-raise or call, wait for a short while – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.
After the flop your strategy will be to get rid of anyone that might be able to build a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise boldly, if you are fortunate you will trick one player into believing that you are bluffing.
If you’re in the center or late spot (near the last to cast a bet) you’ll watch as everyone calls and then raise. Even though you’re holding a pair of aces, if possible try to avoid a show-down. Protect your hand by making the other players drop out following the flop. If you don’t drive out your competitors you risk squandering your hand.
