Seems like most folks are always talking about pre-flop method, so I wanted to talk a bit about how I play immediately after the flop. Maybe I can help others, or perhaps they’ve got advice to enhance my play.

I imagine that 2 of the most important plays right after the flop are the semi-bluff and the defensive bet. That is because these are the plays you generate whenever you havent hit a hand but you’ve got a excellent drawing hand. Its easy to wager on a hand whenever you flop a monster. Except I believe that these two are the greatest techniques to wager on a drawing. Each one is played depending on you challenger(s) and your postion. So here is how I play it, so tell me what you think.

Early Location – Tight Competitors:

A semi-bluff works fairly effectively in this position. Come out gambling and if a tight gambler didn’t hit a hand he’ll probably lay down, and if he is unsure you may well get a call. But watch out, if that tight gambler comes back more than the top it might be time to obtain away.

Early Location – Loose Opponents

This can be had been I like to complete a defensive bet. Make a decision how a lot of chips you might be willing to risk on your draw and wager. It is normally a much lower wager than normal. It’s been my encounter that the loose player will usually just call a bet instead of re-raise. On the other hand, if you check to them, theyre more likely to throw in far more chips than your willing to pay.

Late Location – Tight Competitors

It is the best time to complete a semi-bluff, specifically if most of the table checks. If that is the case you will probaly pick up the pot now. If a player prior to has bet, you could have to make a decision if he has a hand or not. If not, then reraise and he will possibly go away since he was attempting to steal the pot. If you believe he does, nicely then it is time to compute your odds, and decide if the pot odds are worth the call.

Late Place – Loose Opponents

This one is often a bit difficult, simply because it’s more difficult to put a loose player on a hand. And if your in late location against loose gambler, odds are they have already wager. This can be had been I usually make a decision to take a chance and are available back over the top of them and pray they don’t call, and if they do, effectively then its time to wager. Chances are although even a loose gambler will go away in case you appear back strong enough.

Don’t forget though that these are moves I only generate following the flop comes and I have a reasonable drawing hand (usually not a gutshot either). Perhaps four to the flush or the open ended straight, for instance.
